About Me

Greetings!

Hi Im Doctor Mike Knott. I grew up here in the Austin Metro Area and soon moved to the Round Rock areaRound Rock Chiropractor. I went to Westwood High School and played Football there for four years and I ran Track. I got married to a McNeil Maverick a few years after high school. (Yes, our house is divided on some Friday nights). However, since my wife is a school teacher in Hutto, we like to cheer on the Hutto Football team once in a while. We have two spectacular boys, The oldest who is 9 and the youngest is 4. They keep us very busy!!

How did I become a Chiropractor?

My story about how I became a Chiropractor starts with my wife. She went to work for a local Chiropractor and she would come home with these amazing stories about how people were getting healed without drugs or surgery. I was a little naive back then because my thought process was when you have a headache it was because you didnt have enough Tylenol.

She convinced me to come see her Doctor for my neck pain because I was constantly popping my own neck with very little relief . The Doctor gave me an exam and x-rays and told me my neck pain was from all the years of playing football. I started to put two and two together. I recalled that I did have a neck injury that I used to rehab in the training room. Of course, the trainer would only have me rehab my neck during football season, go figure.

The Doctor said that everyday I smashed helmets with someone was like getting into a car wreck each time. The first adjustment there was a lot of noise coming out of my neck. After a few treatments I began to notice that I didnt have as many headaches and best of all I didnt feel the need to pop my own neck 20 times a day. The experience changed my life. At the time, I was working full time and going to college part time. I had been taking classes for a career in the health care industry, but had not decided on the discipline yet. My mother-in-law planted a seed in my mind, she said you would make a good Chiropractor. I had another friend of mine that said the same thing on a different day and when the same thing was said directly from my own Chiropractor, I started to listen. I looked at my credits from college, and the prerequisites from the Chiropractic college, and they were identical. I needed one additional class to be able to apply. I went home to tell my wife Im going to Chiropractic College and the rest is history.

I also believe that I should remain current on the latest research and techniques in chiropractic care. I do this through taking courses from accredited colleges and programs and subscribing to professional journals. I am also currently pursing a Diplomate in Sports Chiropractic.

Now 1 Doctorate and 2 Bachelors later.

We are now back in Round Rock, Texas just North of Austin and South of Georgetown. We opened our doors in August of 2008 with a warm welcome from the Chamber of Commerce. A year later we are still serving the people of Round Rock and surrounding communities, not only through healthcare, but also being involved in community service. We have helped to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for the last two years and raised money for Dell Children's Hospital.  We also recognize those who are in public service through Teacher Appreciations Days for Round Rock ISD and Hutto ISD, and Fire Fighter and Police Appreciation Days.

Were looking forwarded to a new year of serving families and the community.
